The Pinot Days Trade Tasting will showcase over 80 phenomenal producers of pinot noir from the Russian River Valley to the Santa Lucia Highlands, Oregon to Carneros, the Anderson Valley to the Sonoma Coast to the Santa Rita Hills. Come taste the highly acclaimed wines, and talk with the gifted winemakers who created them. By invitation only.
These Southern AVAs may be known for their forward fruit, but in the hands of these gifted winemakers they show their stylistic diversity and exceptional uniqueness. Come taste and compare these celebrated regions and the various hands that craft their fruit. The personalities behind these pinots are as compelling as the wines themselves; this is one not to miss! Wines will be tasted blind, in four flights. Featured wineries will be anounced on March 15th. Seats are limited, so reserve one today!
In the Pinot Days spirit of "Serious Wines, Serious Fun," we have created this educational event that will showcase excellent pinot and the passion of those who make it. Though there is nothing whatsoever that is trivial about pinot noir, there is a vast body of stories and facts that will heighten your love affair with the noble grape. Join legends like Richard Sanford, Greg La Follette and Jean Charles Boisset for this singular, incredible tasting. You will taste 16 of the finest and most highly acclaimed pinots on the market, meet the dynamic winemakers behind them, and try your palette and your luck at some trivia questions that for some will result in winning some stellar wines. Questions will be posed by producers, and many will involve your palette more than your prior pinot-knowledge, so don't shy away from what will be a fun-filled, educational, once-in-a-pinotphile's lifetime event. Space is limited.

SPECTACULAR PINOT TOUR OF THE RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
We're not folks who overstate; we mean the word "Spectacular" quite literally! Those who have visited the Russian River Valley know that its views and landscapes are nothing short of breathtaking, and its wines are as stunning as the vineyards from which they come. Join us for an all-day “insider’s” tour through the heart of Russian River Valley. We will meet at 9:00am for a tour and tasting at Merry Edwards (who says pinot doesn’t count as breakfast?) and then we will travel by luxury bus to Dutton Goldfield to hear their stories and taste their wines. At lunch time we’ll travel to Iron Horse for an old-fashioned BBQ in the vineyard, paired with wines from both Iron Horse and Freeman Winery. After lunch we’ll bus over to Benovia for a special tour and tasting, and finally to Inman Family, where Kathleen Inman will show us her brand new crush and tasting facility, and share her lovely wines. This is a one-of-a kind day for pinot lovers, and one we hope you won’t miss!

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and public charity of volunteers, the AIWF is one of the few national organizations with the unique combination of dedicated wine and food enthusiasts and professionals. Today, the organization has 27 chapters with over 4,000 members in the United States. The Northern California Chapter, one of the largest, has awarded 12 scholarships over the past two years to students at the CIA-Greystone, Napa Valley College and SFSU.

PINOT DAYS 2010 PRODUCER SPOTLIGHT TASTING: ADAM LEE AND SIDURI WINES
Adam Lee has been making great pinot for 16 years. He and Dianna bravely sent a bottle of that first 1994 vintage to Robert Parker who loved it, thus becoming the rating that launched a thousand stellar pinots. Adam now crafts pinot from over 20 different vineyards (from Santa Barbara to the Willamette Valley), preferring to innovate rather than play it safe. And when you combine his winemaking skill with his willingness to take chances, the result is a body of pinots that offer such breadth of style and flavor – it’s like a pinot noir character study encapsulated in a single winery. Adam is our Pinot Days 2010 Spotlight Producer because his work celebrates pinot noir in all of its forms, offering impeccably-crafted wines that range like people do in personality. Adam might be considered pinot noir royalty, but I think he’d prefer the title of pinot’s most loyal groupie, proving through his tireless work that this little grape is far more versatile (and lovely) than all the other varieties put together. Which will make us want to wave our lighters to Adam Lee as he pours his favorite 16 wines in the Pinot Days Spotlight on June 25th. Join us there.
